Bed Rail

My DD (21 months) used to sleep in her cot bed without issue until October last year (she was ill so slept with us until she was better and has stayed here since! - separate issue! Blush). I want to move her back to her cot bed and we tried during Easter but she was having none of it and I think she's just used to a bed now...So I'm thinking of taking the sides off the cot but wondering if we should still install a bed rail? Problem is none of them seem to work with her bed specifications. Most say minimum length of 150-158cm and hers is 148.....

My son started sleeping in his cot bed at 15 months. We never installed a bed rail for the same reason as yourself!

We just changed the cot to the bed and put a spare folded quilt on the floor in case he ever rolled out of bed. It's been nearly 4 months now and he's only ever rolled out twice!

Personally I'd say go without them Smile

And I'll add that the twice he rolled out he went straight back to sleep on the floor duvet Grin

We use foam wedge bed guards that go under the sheet - 100cm I believe. Both my 3 year old and 15mo have them and although they won't stop them deliberately climbing/crawling out, they will stop rolling.

Thank you both for your replies. Think we’ll go without then but I’ll definitely look into the foam guards. Thanks
