ds2 does this sometiomes. I find if you leave him a tad longer, and then go back in and do your normal sleep-inducing thing (for ds his dummy) it works, but you do have to let him cry.

nickytwotimes · 09/05/2007 19:38

ta senora. god it's driving me nuts as i am spoiled in having a baby who normally sleeps well!

What about a nice bottle or b/feed - whatever you are doing? I sometimes find when DS is really upset, it soothes him no end.....

Any chance he maybe teething?

SenoraPostrophe · 09/05/2007 19:38

you have checked his nappy I take it?

SenoraPostrophe · 09/05/2007 19:39

10 mins normally does it for ds.

he doesn't sleep though. goes down ok, then wakes at 11, 1,3,4,5 and maybe 6.

nickytwotimes · 09/05/2007 19:41

have done all the usual checks. will try another feed shortly, though it didn't help last time. if dh was here it wouldn't be so bad...

I would give bottle/breast and if that doesn't work go in cuddle, put down , leave 10 minutes and repeat until it works . Hope he is ok now

Nikki76 · 09/05/2007 19:44

They just know when you want them to be quiet don't they! I remember when I was in day two of being a new SAHM and very nervous and DS decided to cry from 9am until 6pm and only shut up when Daddy came in!!!!

I've crotched a small comforter for DS - having something to rub his face with/cover his eyes is a huge comfort to him and as its crotched he can breathe through it. do you have anything you could use like that? Square of muslin or something - worth a try!

Troutpout · 09/05/2007 19:48

Hope he calms down soon

nickytwotimes · 09/05/2007 19:52

he's still going nuts. gave him a cuddle and milk and put him down - going even more mental. this is hellish!!

nickytwotimes · 09/05/2007 20:07

he is not a fan of cuddles.
however (touch wood) think he is almost over....has given himself hiccups! i'm off for a bath and a wee whisky shortly. thanks again folks
