Dropping a nap?

My almost 14 month old i THINK is trying to drop a nap. She only started having longer naps a month or so ago, so would have about an hour in the morning and an hour or so in the afternoon. She now fights the morning nap like a trooper, and her afternoon nap has become a bit earlier but the problem is she doesn’t sleep for very long (about an hour) so then her awake time in the afternoon is reeeealllly long and she becomes an overtired mess. What do people do in this situation?! Bring bedtime earlier until the nap is a bit longer? I’m clueless with naps.

It's an akward age wirh naps I find .
By 18 ish months they often cope better with the whole morning awake imo and experience.
Yes to bringing bedtime earlier .
It does get easier as they reach closer to 18 months
