Sleep improvement

Hi everyone,

My little one has always been a bad sleeper. He went through an awful stage a few weeks back of waking every HOUR.

We seem to have passed that and he's going long stretches and sleeping until 4am, having a feed and back to sleep. We are now in a place where he is waking Just once a night (fantastic!!!!) - sometimes twice, again this is no problem.

Since he's sleeping better he always wakes at 5:30 for the day ahead! How can I get him to sleep an extra hour?

His routine is as follows;
7pm - bath/cuddles/stories
7:20 - bottle and bed

How old is your LO?
I've been told that treating the early wake in exactly the same way as you would a night waking works. My ds isn't needing this yet, so I can't say if it works from experience, but I've been told it works.
Might be worth a try.

He's just turned 8 months.

Usually when he used to wake at 5, he feeds and goes back to sleep no problem (but this was after a bad night)

Now he's sleeping well, it's bright eyed and bushy tailed at 5!

It? That should have said he!

That was autocorrect, I promise 😂

Haha. It!!! Love it.
Oh well in that case you'll just have to go to bed earlier! My ds1 woke at 4.30 for absolutely ages. Was a miserable time.
Keep trying the same things and make sure you are really boring and un-stimulating at 5am. Prob won't be hard!!

No idea if this would work- but could you try a slightly later bedtime?

I’m sure other posters will shoot me down if this is a terrible idea

We actually put him to bed an hour later a few days ago but he still woke up at the same time. It must just be his body clock haha!

Thanks for the suggestion though 😀
