Hi all,
My Lo has slept through the night since 3 months old with no problem at all but since he turned 1 in December he does not settle well and then had an internal clock which wakes him around midnight every night, after which he cries and cries and cries until we take him in with us (I know we have made a rod for our own back with that one but when he cries so much he is sick, I don't feel there was another option). Does anyone have experience of anything similar? Will it pass or are we going to have to try controlled crying to start settling him again?

Also interested in people's bedtime routines to see if he may respond better and settle quicker.

Thanks in advance

There is nothing wrong with sleeping with your baby, you like to sleep with your partner so why do people think babies might not also like to sleep with a loved one? It doesn’t mean it will be forever, please don’t leave him to cry it out until he is sick.

If you like your space can you sidecar the cot next to your bed? That’s where my 13 month old sleeps and she’s just started going longer stretches. I’ll move her to her own room when she is sleeping through which she’ll do in her own time.
