This is really normal. I think controlled crying is horrific and beyond cruel, but even those who do it would suggest much much later than 6 months.

Sleep is up and down in the first year of life it isn’t linear. Your baby isn’t doing anything wrong, I know it’s exhausting but I’d suggest getting as much rest as possible. The first year was tough for us but my daughter now is almost 14 months and finally sleeps! They get there in the end without you doing anything, they need you at night as well as day.

As far as I know the only ‘sleep training’ thought to sometimes work at this age is pick up put down.

But your baby is still very young. Maybe try to wait for a few more months. It may sort itself out anyway.

This is from someone with a baby who will only nap on them.

Hi @lilizu - please try joining the Beyond Sleep Training Project on FB, where normal infant sleep is discussed and there are lots of lovely mamas who can give you support and advice.
