Removing bed guard

My two year old has a bed guard on her bed and it has been 4 nights where she has slept without it being on.

Im so worried she will fall out but hasnt done so far and has done so well with it. But we have been putting a big plush sofa cushion on the floor next to her so if she were to fall out then she wouldnt hurt herself (the bed isnt very high off the floor anyway) My question is... should i take the big cusion away now as its been 4 nights where she hasnt fell out? Im just wondering what other parents have done with their little ones when it comes to this - did they adjust ok? is it that fast they adjust to it not being there? i should also add she is a very wiggly sleeper and doesnt stay in the same position for longer than 20 to 30 mins!

Any help would be appriciated 😊

2 years old is young to be in a bed rather than a cot. Not unheard of, but it is on the young side.

Why the rush to remove the bed guard? Is there a problem with it being on? Many 2 year olds are still in a cot, so am trying to understand your rush.

Anyhow, as to if your toddler will fall out in not, it's entirely likely she will at some point. But it is child-dependant. My DC1 went into a bed at 3yo and occasionally fell out. My DC2 went into a bed at 3y6m and was always falling out! Until he was about 8 years old. My DC3 went into a bed at 3yo and never once fell out (he rarely moves at all in the night). DC4 is 3y6m and is happy in a cot, no plans to move to sleep bed anytime soon.
