Moses Basket / Beanbag or other?

Hi,

I'm just trying to get sorted for my first baby, due in April, and I'm trying to work out what is best to have for the baby to sleep in whilst downstairs. (Will have a crib next to the bed, with a cot in his room for when he is old enough)

I had thought all along that a Moses Basket would be best, but I have been looking into the baby beanbags too, though I'm not sure how safe they are.

Or is there another alternative - looking to hear any recommendations

We had a bouncer chair that had a vibration setting - DS loved that. Otherwise he pretty much sat with me or DH as he hated being put down for the first few weeks!

Baby Bjorn bouncy chair and a Moses basket for us, although we only have the Moses basket as it’s a family heirloom.

The bouncy chair is a god send, it folds flat too!

Hi I had both and my son preferred the Moses basket. Because he was strapped in to the bean bag he couldn't move which he liked to do from a very early age he never stayed asleep. Also once I put him on it asleep and forgot to strap it and he rolled off!

You could go with a bouncy chair, or just use the cot bit from your pram if you have one. Although you may find they don’t want to be put down during the day for a while so they end up snuggling with you, do doesn’t really matter what you have 😂

Reiterate that many babies won't be put down for the first few weeks so you may end up being what they nap
on!

We've just invested in a poddlepod
for DD2. Worth getting the larger one though, as the small one is tiny and they grow out of it quickly.

I'm absolutely fine with being what the baby naps on just thinking slightly longer term

Baby currently naps on me. Will work on cot naps at 6 months when allowed to sleep by himself.
