My 16 month old was sleeping through... this is now the 4th night in a row she's up in the night for hours... wide awake.
She goes to sleep by herself perfectly fine.. what the hell has gone wrong!?

has she just started walking or going through some other developmental leap?

you need to remember that sleep is not linear - it will go back and forth, as your child develops. Perfectly normal but frustrating Smile

oh and nothing has gone "wrong" - its her brain growing! So its actually "right"

Thanks
No she's been walking a few months.
I have to work today and we've been awake since 4am.. there's no point in going back to sleep now.
Yesterday she was awake 2-4... day before midnight till 2. It's always two hours awake. She used to do this when she was 11months but had stopped.
Ugh please let this phase pass quickly.

oh right - yeah "its just a phase, its just a phase" should be a mother's mantra Wink

If it's any comfort at all my 16 month old has been awake and chatting/yelling/rolling around since 3am!

I think she's gone back to sleep so an hour left to sleep before in laws come to pick her up. 😴

wet exactly the same situation here, DS is 15 and half months old, goes to sleep no problem at 7pm, every night for the last week or so come 1am bang wide awake, no tearful or anything, just lies in our arms wide awake for up to two hours!!! He has just started walking so I'm following this with interest. My DD is 5 but she never did this, so all new to us!!! I'm on nights this week and I'm getting more sleep than my DH!!

wetsnow · 21/02/2018 06:18

Yes older dd who is 4 slept through no issue from 10 months.
Dd2 is very different.
She's up again so in bed with us having milk.
Google tells me the 18 month sleep regression is actually the 15-18 month sleep regression so maybe that's it.

Yep, massive sleep regression around now. Dd is 13 months and I’m dreading it. She’s a crap sleeper anyway so this might just push me over the edge 😂

Sorry, no advice. Loads of sympathy though!
