Ds won't fall asleep unless pushed about in pram

Ds is now 3 months old and am trying to get him into some kind of bedtime routine but screams when I try and lay in his Moses basket to fall asleep only way to get him to sleep is to push him around in his pram anybody have any tips on how to get ds out of this bad habit and into a routine of falling asleep on his own

Hi, 3 months is still so tiny so don't give yourself a hard time. It's really hard and there are so many different things to try. It will get easier and I don't think at 3 months you're in bad habits, you're both still settling down together. I have a little routine for every sleep- the same blanket to sleep on, cuddles until very drowsy, then down into the pram with it dark and quiet. If she's awake, i pick her up straight away and more cuddles then try again. I use the pram top in her room in her big cot so I can keep it dark for her. She's never much liked the crib. I keep her really quite warm too but in fresh air where possible (window open). Perseverance and you'll both learn what works. To be honest though, it may be controversial but I believe at 3 months if you can cuddle, just embrace it (excuse the pun!). My daughter is 5 months and I only started a little routine a few weeks ago when I noticed she was getting herself into a proper rhythm. I hope that helps. It’s not a bad habit, he’s used to being rocked in your belly for 9 months so it’s not a habit he’s got himself into is he breast or bottle fed? Does he have a dummy? What ways would you be comforting him to get him to sleep in the cot? The rocking of the buggy is comforting.

We did it by using the carrycot and gradually reducing the amount if time we walked for, until a quick up and down the hall was all that was needed. Made easier by having a rocking Moses basket.

Why are you bothering at 3 months old? He will sleep in the cot/crib when he’s ready. I’m on my third child - also 3 months - and he is fed to sleep then laid down gently. He will only nap in my arms or being walked in the pram.
Babies are just like this. I’d just accept it and go with it - far less stressful!
When he’s 7/8 months you can start trying to get him to nap in the cot during the daytime... and then move onto night time.
I promise you, they just get this stuff when they’re older. There’s no pony stressing out such a young baby

Ps there is no way he will just fall asleep on his own at 3 months.
Just cuddle him, feed him etc.. and don’t try to teach him any kind of lesson. He will get it eventually.. but you are about nine months too early with your expectations of what he “should” be doing
