Which white noise toy

Ds is 20 weeks. He used to sleep through the night but no longer does. He can wake up to 5 times a night. He has so far been fed to sleep each time but this is a habit I do not want to get in to, particularly as he is not hungry and I keep falling asleep while feeding him which is scary! We didn't feed him when he woke last night but instead shushed and settled and after an hour, he fell asleep with white noise. He wasn't upset at all, just awake! He then slept for 3 and a half hours so clearly was not hungry.
So, I'm looking to buy a white noise toy. It must have a sensor to turn it back on when ds stirs, which seems to rule out Ewan. So I'm left trying to choose between myhummy, whisbear and Ollie the owl. Any recommendations?

I bought a MyHummy ready for new baby but DD(5) has nicked it i can honestly say it's bloody awesome! She used to be a bit touch & go with sleep, if she woke in the night she'd come to me. Now she just hugs the bloody noise box & goes back to sleep!

My theory is if it works on a five year old it will work with a smaller child

We have an Ollie but the only drawback is it can't go in the washing machine. Still love it though!

We have that bloody expensive sheep on one room, Ewan I think it’s called and an elephant projector thing in my eldest son’s room that acts as a light and it plays music/white noise. Both work well.

No toy. We used to use radio tuned out. We now have a white noise machine which we bought from Amazon for about £20. Great. On continuously. No worries about batteries running out as mains operated

The noise box in MyHummy comes out so you can wash the cuddly too

None. Get an old phone and download the sound sleeper app. It has a variety of choices. My 12 week old loves the hairdryer one. It's a free download but if you upgrade for about £2 then you can play the sound all night. Pop it in the cot. Works a treat!
I only say old phone so that you can still use yours!

Myhummy does seem to get excellent reviews. I'm very tempted to just bite the bullet but it does seem expensive compared to the others.

We have a Myhummy. It's not the miracle some people make out but I like it and it is helpful. The heartbeat sound works well at night to help self settle and the hair dryer one cuts through a meltdown if it's on really loud. I wouldn't swear by it though, we still have bad nights. It is a nice toy but I think it's quite expensive for what it is.

I second the white noise machine from amazon. So much cheaper and operates on mains. Sleep consultant advised me to keep it on all night rather than have it turn back on when baby stirs.

Ipad underneath the moses basket works for us, on all night, loudly (the app is about £5)

Hmm i am tempted by a myhummy. I adore Ewan but it is too short

I use a white noise app on a phone for both my boys, I also use the phones as a monitor. Much cheaper than any of the toys (app was free) and a huge range of sounds available, but it does rely on you having a spare phone kicking about! Most of the toys seem to time out and I wanted to use something that would run all night.

I got a free app called Rain Rain on my old iPhone as my DH suffers with tinnitus and we've needed it for him. Now me and DD can't sleep without it either. It isn't just rain sounds either. All the little tabs on the picture are free sounds that either play until stopped or can be set on a timer.

I think the sound sleeper app has the ability to switch on if it hears the baby make a sound which is what mygummy does I believe, just at a lot more cost.

I found the my hummy white noise horrible! I just use a fan one from YouTube

Another vote for old iPad/phone plus app (currently enjoying it coming over the monitor as I type).

Way cheaper, the app can be used as a monitor (which will go on & off according to baby stirrings if you don’t want it on all night) and so many different types of white noise for you to choose from.

My Hummy sounds tinny and only has 5 sounds, none of which my baby particularly liked. He's a noise sleeper so the MH basically turned back on every time it turned off, so might as well run all night and it ate batteries.

Phone app is cheaper but you need to have the device charged and remember to switch into airline mode. Plus if you don't have a spare phone, you lose your phone into the baby crib half the time.

After trying the lot, we paid £20 for a white noise machine off Amazon. It's brilliant. Mains powered so no need to charge. Volume is louder than an iPhone (white noise needs to be reasonably loud to be effective). About 20 different sounds so highly likely to find a pitch which works for your baby. Cheaper than a MH. Toys are a gimmick, your baby doesn't need to be able to hug the white noise or find it cute. So easy? Just turn on the machine and leave it. The whole point of running it all night is so when your baby rouses, the white noise is still running and helps them transition. By far the best option IMO.
