Baby crying. Had about 3 hours sleep last night.

Totally run out of stamina. Shall I just go to bed?

Is baby crying now? Si s/he tired too by any chance ?
Could you cuddle up together in the middle of big bed & dooze? (Surround him/her with cushions, depending on age...)

Hmmm, well he bl**dy well ought to be tired but doesn't seem keen on sleeping. Actually he's teething so it's all perfectly explicable.
Tried all the usual walking around, pushing him in buggy etc to get him off.

5 months.... He's normally not great but the last week has been pretty bad and last night exceptionally awful!

might try taking him up to bed with me and doing the cushion thing but I;m not too hopeful as I think what;ll happen is that he'll try to feed and get upset again.
He fed all last night and is trying but failing to feed today - he's all out of synch and I don't know how to get him back.

Oh poor you. It is pure torture when they don't sleep. Have you got a sling to put him in ? Can you b/f him to sleep? These worked with mine when they were this small. HTH

hebetalbot · 30/04/2007 14:05

Sorry, your post came in before I sent mine. B/f to sleep wasn't probably the best advice .

Thank you for sympathy, Ohsmellyjelly... it's v nice

Yep he's been dosed up with Calpol. Great stuff.

Ah he's stopped crying for a minute now but is making very moopy faces.

Too tired to do the sling any more right now.... you know when you can't stop them crying and it's somehow worse in the sling because they're so close to you, you really feel it.

Fortunately no school runs or anything to do - dd is at nursery but dh brings her home as it's at his work.
