We've just implemented a bedtime routine for 12 week old DS. Been doing it for a week and it's going quite well.
BF at 6pm, followed by a cuddle in the rocking chair, and a read of a book.
Then it's a nappy change, massage and into pj's. Into sleeping bag, cuddles standing up rocking, whilst murmuring "night night, go to sleep" and then popped down into sleepyhead, which is in the snuzpod.
I then put the sheep on, and lie down next to him stroking his tummy till he's asleep. It's usually about 7pm when we're done.
He'll then wake up about 11 for food. Then 3 hourly after that through the night.
I go to bed about half 9, so I've not been asleep long when he wakes, I'm thinking (hoping) a dream feed might help push him longer so I get a decent chunk of sleep at first.
Although he's pretty good at the waking - it's eat then back to sleep with no messing - I'm only getting around 2 to 2 and a half hours sleep before he's awake again.
How does it work though, logistically?
If he is asleep, me waving a boob in his face won't necessarily mean he'll feed.
Also, he's a bugger to burp so I give infacol before each feed, which again is tricky when he is asleep.
What's the best way to do this?
