He won’t self settle anymore

DS is nearly 9 months. At around 7 months he self started soothing himself to sleep for naps (bedtime from around 4 months easily). He needed no help from me, I put him on our big bed and left the room (he slept in his cot at night time though in our room).

Past 2-3 Weeks, we’ve moved him into his own room and due to him rolling around well, crawling, he’s taking naps in his cot in his own room too.

Now he just won’t go down without being fed! I have to very carefully transfer him and if I dare put him in his cot awake, he just screams! He’s also waking up more in the night so I’m feeding to sleep more in general.

Is this just a phase? It’s not a huge problem I guess...it just felt like a big step forward for him to self sooth and now bedtime and naps are more tricky.

I'm having the same issue. DS was very good at self settling and required no help from me to sleep. Now he's standing in his cot, won't lie down, won't settle. I've resorted to rocking to sleep, just hope I haven't made a rod for my own back Sad

Nope. He’s learned a new skill. His brain is compelling him to practice it. He’s not broken, he’s growing!
