7mo night waking again?

Hi,

Our DS had been doing great, he learnt on his own to sleep through pretty early on. We did the usual low lights, had a bed time routine etc and if he did wake for milk we would keep the lights off, feed him and put him straight back to bed. We've been lucky I know!

But I've returned back to full time work now (have to wake up at 5.30am latest to be out of house on time for work) and he has started night waking again.

Sometimes he wants milk, the other night he drank 20oz over 3 wakes. But other times he is wide awake and just wants to play and can do this for 3 hours! Doesn't seem to be any pattern or rationalizing in his waking like there did when he was a little baby?

Has anyone got any suggestions? Lack of sleep is getting to me, especially as my OH works nights so it's up to me!

Tia x

How old?

DD started waking up again at 7months having slept through for the previous 4.5 months. I've no advice! We ended up co-sleeping, which made it easier to cope with but didn't solve the issue. It was a long time before she slept through again... I don't know any other babies who did this though, so she may not be typical!

I'm guessing it's teething related maybe!?

(Needsleepnow87 says 7mo in title x)

If it's happened since you've gone back to work full time, he genuinely might just want to reconnect. I'm sure it'll pass soon enough but it sounds exhausting Thanks x

True he could be wanting cuddles. Although he's always been a very independent baby. He's never particularly cared if I'm around or not haha. He's been enjoying sleepover overs with both grandparents since he was little!

Think it is his teeth as he was awake for 4 hours with me last night just biting furiously on anything he could get into his mouth. Wouldn't let me go near him with bonjela as he screamed whenever I touched his gums! Poor thing.
