22 month old waking 5 yr old at 5.30am!

Our 22 month old has been waking at 5.30, on the dot, for about a month now and it’s driving us all insane!

I can’t leave her longer than a couple of minutes as her loud shouts wake up my 5 yr old, who really needs more sleep!

She had a nap from 12.30 ish for 2.5 hrs every day and usually has to be woken. She then goes to bed at 7.30.

I’be tried sitting with her, bringing her into our bed, giving her milk and nothing makes a difference. Once she’s up, she’s up for the day!

Has anyone got any advice, or is it just a case of grinning and baring it!!

Well she's actually getting a good amount of sleep.

If you want her in bed at 730, you'll just have to grin and bear it. If not, move her bedtime back by an hour and she will sleep an hour longer in the morning. People say 'oh he she wakes at the same time even if I put to bed later' and obvs she will initially but after a week or two she will adjust. It's just like when the clocks change. Takes a while to adjust.

I'd shorten her afternoon nap .......

Yes she is getting around 12.5 hours sleep in 24 which is normal for a nearly two year old.
I'd shorten the nap to 1.5 hours
