20 month old naps

Dd is 20 months old and has always been a reasonable sleeper. Bit the best, but we've never had awful regressions or anything. She started sleeping through at night from about 4 months, and still does now, unless she's ill or teething, and then she comes in with us.

But the last few weeks have been pretty bad nap-wise. A couple of times she has just completely refused to nap at all, and on days that she has napped, they've been 40 minute catnaps. I wouldn't mind if she dropped her nap if she seemed ready but she's really struggling to cope until bedtime now.

For full disclosure, she's been ill since before Christmas with a succession of colds, and has also just cut her canines.

What, if anything, can I do to improve her daytime naps? We've never done cc or cio, and I don't intend to try it now. Thanks in advance. Smile

Perhaps she is going to drop it soon then. I'm not convinced that she's ready but I guess time will tell!
