I'm baby sitting my sisters 5 day old baby tonight and she told me to put him at the top of his Moses basket but I'm sure I've been told that he should always be at the bottom incase he riggles down under his blanket?

Always bottom of crib or Moses basket or cot. For the exact reason you mentioned.

Thanks for your speedy replies! He has a heart beat and movement monitor also that beeps if no breathing or movement is detected (or I forget to turn it off before I lift him and wake the full house)...
