weaning from miracle blanket

We swaddle ds (3 months) for naps and for night time sleep, but he has been kicking his miracle blanket off and trying to escape his arms, so I guess he doesnt want it any more. I don't think it is becoming safe to continue using it.

Problems:

  1. he has eczema - with free arms he attacks his face. even with mitts on he still aggravates it.
  1. he uses a dummy - with free arms he knocks it out, and cant get back to sleep
  1. he wants ot try to suck his thumb - so either mitts for eczema, or no mitss for thumb sucking.
  1. I use a miracle blanket as I really cannot swaddle to save my life. and believe me I have tried.

Not an easy one I'm afraid
So, any tips?
Or miracle blanket weaning success stories? (one arm out, one arm in I guess?)
Or eczema and swaddling weaning success stories?

Next do babygro's with fold over mitts on the sleeves and you could use this with a grobag?
My DS (9 months) is using a 1.0 tog grobag at the mo with a long sleeved vest.
