Co-sleeping advice

DD is going through the dreaded 4 month sleep regression and won't go down in her cot after weeks of fairly decent sleep.
She'll happily settle in our bed but last night wouldn't transfer back to her own.
I am happy for her to co-sleep and DH doesn't really mind as long as it isn't long term.

We have 2 problems. Firstly, DH vapes. Does anyone know if this is an issue in the same way regular smoking is?

Secondly, we have a fuck awful awkward bed which we can't attach a co-sleeping crib to but could possibly put some sort of rail up so DD can sleep between me and it rather than between DH and I. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Not sure about vaping but we use foam wedge bed guards which go under the sheet. Not going to stop a determined crawler from getting down but they definitely stop any rolling and are much softer than a guard.
