My 19 mo DD is a terrible sleeper, always has been. We co-sleep in a giant floor bed which saved my sanity last year, but I would quite like to at the very least improve her sleep.
Currently I feed her to sleep and she wakes once or twice during the evening and then I sleep next to her from about 9 when I give up for the evening. She wakes 3 or 4 times overnight for a quick feed.
My problem is nothing seems to work - I expect some tears but even when I manage to get her to sleep without feeding (like tonight after 25 minutes of cuddling/singing etc) she still wakes an hour or so later. She is currently howling in bed with DH while I drink a cup of tea. Everyone I talk to seems to have experienced a nice long sleep when they finally crack the going to sleep without feeding, whereas for her it makes no difference. Is this something I need to just accept that she will grow out of one day and just give up on ever doing anything in the evening in the meantime? Or does anyone have any suggestions for getting a co-sleeping toddler to sleep better? Thank you
