My youngest has just turned 2 and has always been very unpredictable with his sleep. Will either sleep through for weeks, or some nights wake up occasionally but just do a little whinge, or some nights wake up all night every night on and off for weeks! We are in the latter phase atm!
He's recently started sharing a room with his 3.5 year old brother, (no correlation to the night waking as he was doing it anyway) so when he wakes my husband has been going in there to settle him, but now it's getting worse and more frequent. He doesn't appear to want anything when he wakes, my husband doesn't cuddle him or anything just says ssh and comforting words then leaves, but it's becoming constant.
If I go in there all hell breaks loose and I can never leave! I wouldn't mind staying in there if he actually went back to sleep but he doesn't he just stares at me, for hours, I know because I've tried.... many a time!!!! 😫 I'm at the point where if he would sleep in my bed I'd put him in there to get some sleep but that doesn't work either he just thinks it's play time!
