Does anyone use a dream feed?

I have done this the last 2 nights, mainly because he doesn't have much of his bottle at 7.30ish before he falls asleep.

There seems different views on it online and until a friend told me she did it I hadn't heard of it.

The last two nights our 8 week old baby has slept for 7 1/2 hours!

I didn't do this with my first but started doing this with my second around 6 weeks ago when he was around 4.5 months. I honestly can't remember exactly why but he did not have a concrete routine and would waken at different times for a feed. Since beginning this, he sleeps through till his morning bottle anytime between 7/8 am. If he wakens, he will settle with the dummy. He will be 6 months on the 13th and I am now wondering when I should stop this and how to. Any ideas? I think all babies are different and what works for one, will not necessarily work for the other. If it is working for you then great Smile

Dd had bottle at 7 then sleep then a dream feed about 10:30 - 11ish then everyone slept until 6ish. Started cutting out feed at 9 months and only gave when she woke up during night. 13 months now and no night feeding.
They are all different, go with what feels right.

We did this for DD1, worked a treat. Hungry baby who loved her sleep. Could feed her, change her if needed, and she'd barely waken. However this was not an option for DD2 and DS1! Do what works for you and your baby, nobody else's business Wink
