Big boys bed!

When did you move your lo's into 'the big bed'? Am thinking of it (ds is 2.5) and just wondered if it's to early and how exactly is it done? Am dreading having to get up in the night to put him back into bed.

Also did you use beds with low rails or something to stop them falling out?

I used a cot bed which is low enough so that when he feel out it didn't hurt too much. Plus a strategically placed pillow/cushion/duvet softened the fall! He only fell out twice then he learnt to stay in.

Both DS and DD were about 2.5 when they went into beds.

I have a cot bed for sale on eBay - where are you? - in the South East???

I waited until ds mentioned it (yelling at the top of his voice "This is a baby bed! I need a Big Boy Bed! The problem is the bars! etc etc) He was 3 months away from being 3. We went straight to a big bed with a Tomy rail.

Yes, cece, not far from Reading? I might be watching it already on ebay!
