Hi,

I was hoping you could help me with some advice regarding sleeping aids.

We were going to purchase a Ewan the Dream Sheep, but we have since been advised of Oily the Owl and also the Marpac Hushh.

I can't see many reviews for the Marpac Hushh online.

Could you please advise which is the best product?

Thank You!

Danny Jones.

A white noise app on your phone will be much cheaper and more versatile. I have Euan but it's useless as a sleep aid because I need a longer cycle than 20 mins. It was trial and error to find a white nose that she likes.

I actually love Ewan and don’t need longer than the 20 minutes cycle for ds (6 months) to go off to sleep. It depends on the baby.

Thanks.

I hadn't heard of the Marpac Hushh, but it seems to be a white noise speaker.

I was getting a Ewan the Sheep originally, but I've been put off by the 20 minute cycle and the lack of sensor.

I use the sound of waves on Spotify, on my phone. I have them on repeat all night long, with the phone tucked in DDs mattress / cot bars. I have been looking at Ewan etc, but they are all on cycles rather than continuous.

I bought the donkey version which worked well getting DD to sleep but needed to be continuous so I downloaded the sound sleeper app on a spare iPhone which is now in her nursery and we play that for naps and sleep

Definitely recommend a speaker (Marpac Hush or one of the many competitors on amazon). If you don't mind your phone being unusable while baby is sleeping then it's the cheapest option but it drove us mad which is why we bought a machine!

Definitely not Ewan - not loud enough or washable. MyHummy looks great but we ruled out based on cost and Ollie didn't exist when I had my daughter but I would go for a machine from the beginning if I were to go back in time as my sleep consultant recommended that it is kept on all night at low volume to build a sleep association then phased out as baby got older.

Oh yeah, Dd projectile pood on Euan and its annoyed me that I couldn't machine wash it.

I hope it will make a good cuddly toy for when she's older because it's soft and I like the look of it.
