Excess wind?

Hi all,

I have a 5.5 month old who seems to be struggling wth excess wind I.e. she keeps farting, a lot. The last few nights she’s been waking every hour and I’ve put it down to teething as she has just cut her bottom tooth and we’re waiting for it to emerge, however I think it could actually be a bit of tummy pain and I’m missing it. Every time she wakes she farts loads. She doesn’t seem to be in pain through? Well she cries but that’s because she wants to be alseep and is tired, poor thing. I’ve just cycled her legs and rubbed her tummy and lots of wind came out.

Is this something I’ve eaten? What could it be? Her sleep has been getting progressively worse since 3.5 months but I’ve put it down to sleep regression/teething/learning to sit etc.

I’ve never burped her at night as she always wakes up but she’s never needed it (ebf). I just tried after her feed and she didn’t burp and just woke up, fed her again and layed her down and she stayed asleep.

Any suggestions? We’re due to start wearing in 2 weeks.

A common symptom of of teething can be digestion issues. Some babies get really bad nappy rash when teething, due to changes in the acidity of their urine.

It’s been really bad again tonight, poor little love has been farting like a trooper and can’t settle. I’m glad to hear it could be teething related, it definitely coincides, so feeling a bit relieved. Thank you.
