Does it get any better?

My 7mo DD, as a new born she never slept but that was down to a number of medical issues. At about 12 weeks we got into a really good routine and she was sleeping 7-7 waking once for a bottle. Then she dropped the night time bottle at about 5 months. She seemed to skip the 4 month sleep regression that I'd heard a lot about so I was quite pleased! Now her sleep has just gone out the window. At night she used to have a bottle then settle herself to sleep in her crib in about 5 mins, I have been sitting here for an hour now trying to get her to sleep. She turns her head to the side as if she's going to fall asleep then whips it back round and starts cooing and just chatting to nothing. Naps are the same, she used to fall asleep on the bottle now it's a struggle to get her to sleep no matter how tired she is. I feel like it's all I do with my day! She still hasn't got any teeth so I'm wondering if that's got anything to do with it. Just wondering if anyone's experienced the same at a similar age and if it ever gets better?!

Yes, she might be teething. The fact that she doesn't fall asleep on the bottle anymore is very normal as she's getting older.
After a long cuddle and singing to him on the rocking chair. I put my baby in the cot. He usually settles ok but if he doesn't I just I leave him to have a little grumble and by the time I get downstairs or after a couple of minutes he goes to sleep. Perhaps you could try?

It does get better, just keep telling yourself that it's just a phase.

My three month old wakes himself up by rubbing his face across his sleepyhead whenever I have just got him settled 😡

I sing to her which calms her and the I've tried leaving her but she gets herself in such a state that I go back and have to calm her. I just feel powerless to help her poor thing.
Dd does that on her sleepyhead and takes her dummy out which unsettles her even more.
She was getting so upset so I've just given her a little bit of neurofen and she has settled a little bit now so it's probably the teething, I just don't want to get into the habit of giving it to her every night.

Is this a recent changes in her sleep? How long has ignore been like this?

AllTheWayDown · 13/12/2017 07:46

She's been like this for the last 3 weeks.
Last night was awful, she'd fall asleep and just wake up crying because her dummy was out so I was up about 3 times every hour. Put her in our bed in the end at about 3 and she slept until 7.
