I hope someone can help us, our dd, almost 9mths, just cant sleep through the night anymore. over the past 6 weeks she has had a couple of stomach bugs and colds and is now left with a cough, she has had antibiotics and we are now trying an inhaler (which seems to be having no effect). the main problem is she relies on cuddles and rocking to get her to sleep and she wakes up a lot of times through the night to be resettled, we cant leave her to cry for more than a few seconds as she gets too upset, coughs and is then sick. she then wakes again 30mins later because she is hungry! this is also having a knock on effect on her eating in the day as she is not as hungry!
i feel as if we are stuck in a viscious circle with no end in sight, we are soooo tired and so is she, and it is colouring the way we look after her in the day as we are exhausted and fed up and at the end of our tether.
I dont know what to try anymore, any suggestions anyone?
sorry for waffling and thanks for reading

My DS now 5 (and a great sleeper) went through a phase of this. We used to wear a tshirt for an hour or so before his bed time and then put it in the cot with him. He could smell us, was reassured and went back to sleep. If he woke during the night, we would take the tshirt we were wearing in bed off and give him that. It seemed to work.

thanks sherlock will give that a try.
we did controlled crying (well pick up/put down thingy) before she got ill and that worked a treat and would love to beable to do that again but at the mo the crying makes her cough which makes her sick!
anymore ideas?? she has been very quiet so far tonight, think she's saving it up until i go to bed!
