dream feeding?

what are thoughts on this? DS 9 weeks goes down between 7 and 8pm, and wakes about12-1 for a feed. ~Is it worth dream feeding at 10ish in the hope he will go longer? I am on my own so it means staying awake specially to do it, but i will if in the long run it helps him sleep through quicker

yeah, try it.. Lots of people do a feed when they go to bed. eg 10-11pm ish. Give it a whirl for a week!

tassis · 19/04/2007 20:14

i used to wake ds and it meant he'd go through until 3ish

whatever time I woke dd at she liked a wee feed at 1am if you please

i'd say try it for at least 3 nights in a row...might work, might not...

the other thing to do is to go to bed very early rather than stay awake especially to do such a late/early feed

This worked really well for us. Like a dream in fact!

OK thanks. Will try it for a few nights and see what happens. He is a very very sick baby after feeds so I think it might be more trouble than its worth if it takes him ages to go back to sleep but we will see..........

DD is 7 months and I still dream feed - have done from the start. I never wake her, just pick her up and feed her and she feeds while still asleep

I'm thinking of introducing one for DS (7 weeks), do you actually have to wake them up though? Or do they magically feed while staying asleep? I'm worried about waking him 'cause it can take him a while to get settled again...

DD stays asleep
