3 mo and nighttime wind

I've had all terrible sleepers so far but latest baby seems maybe not so bad (shouldn't jinx by saying!!!).

The problem is that he wakes in the night because of wind. I'm pretty certain he only actually needs one night feed. But he's waking early because of wind. I try and wind him really well after a fit but it takes literally an hour to get a burp out and doesn't necessarily seem to help later on. And I wonder if it really matters, if he is waking with a burp or fart like 4 hours later would having achieved that one burp really have made a difference?

Any advice greatly appreciated! Smile

Probably not, he might just wake anyway and you've bagged an extra hours sleep.

Assuming you've tried several different winding techniques, if it's taking that long to wind then baby probably doesn't need it. Are you breastfeeding? If baby feeds with an excellent latch throughout, then it's reasonable to find that baby won't take in any air so not need winding at all.
