18 Month Sleep

Sleep help please!
My little girl (18 months) has been going through the 18 month sleep regression for about 6 weeks now. She previously slept through no problem from 8 months. The last week or so it has been getting better so we were hopeful we were coming to the end of this stage. However, a week ago she was having trouble going to sleep and flapping her arms about so I gave her a bear to cuddle. She loves this bear now and cuddles him up and asks for him if he isnt given to her at bedtime. However, since giving the bear she is waking every night again (was up to sleeping through 4 nights of of 7). Is this the bears doing? Is she waking up because she cant find him (he is right in front of her most nights and she should have the ability to find him alone) or because she has rolled over onto him and is uncomfy or is this unrelated? I have tried taking the bear away but she screams for him then. Does anyone else have experience of a teddy making things worse/having to take one away or do you think its just a coincidence? I am really struggling now as feel I have messed up the progress she had been making.

I think most 18 month olds love a soft toy at night so it would be cruel to take it away. I think it’s fairky normal for 18 month olds to wake at night, she will settle back down again at some point of her own accord.
I think you should just go with it and not over-think it. My 3yo still wakes sometimes due to fear of the dark/bad dreams/getting too hot etc etc.
I just re-settle her and go back to bed. No big deal. Kids do this
