Habitual waking?

My DS is nearly seven months. We’ve started solids and he’s on 3 meals a day although he doesn’t eat loads. I bf him and he still wakes 2 times in the night. He used to go a couple of hours longer but has regressed a bit.

The thing is that these 2 night feedings are timed perfectly and seem to be the same time each night (within max. 10 mins). Does this mean he’s waking out of habit? He does feed but doesn’t guzzle ur down like he’s starving - it’s a slow feed.

I have no problem giving him it but want to avoid giving him bm when he wakes up if he doesn’t actually need it.

Is two night feedings normal for this age?

I think it's quite normal. DD generally had 2 night feeds until I night weaned at 11 months. They were roughly at the same time each night. Possibly I could have night weaned earlier and she would have slept through earlier but it may have been more difficult if she wasn't ready.

I would expect baby you be able to go at least 8 hours (11pm-7am) without calories at this age. Many can go the full 12 hours.
