...sometimes all I have to do is roll him back and he's back fast asleep...! I know he can roll both ways with no issues... changing him is fun!! I thought it would get better but he's been doing this for over a month.... what do I do...? He's a tummy sleeper and WILL NOT sleep on his back...do I try and get him to sleep on back as well or just keep flipping?? Thanks!!

They only need to be on their back when they are young, floppy and immobile. Once they can move, they go where they want. Mine all went to sleeping on their front with their bum in the air for a while. Then they find a new style.

what do I do?

You leave him to it.

Shanso · 17/11/2017 17:37

@pastabest Lol sorry....forgot to say that he screams the house down....till he's sick and that was with me being with him trying to comfort...i don't want to CIO....so leaving him to it isn't an option...sorry forgot to mention that bit!!

Shanso · 17/11/2017 18:45

@crazycatlady5 I don't think I've explained anything properly...sleep deprivation and my first posting here lol...he wants to sleep on his tummy but rolls onto his back every hour and screams unless I flip him back to tummy...im not sure how to carry on...has anyone experienced this before?? When he first goes to bed I plonk him in cot and he rolls and falls to sleep, he just won't do it when he wakes up.... confused and frustrated! lol

Ah - I see now - it is me that is muddled Grin

Can you put his arms and legs into position when your roll him, like he would do for himself normally? To sort of encourage him to do it himself.

He will probably do it for himself in a short while anyway, but it is probably worth seeing if you can persuade him to do it before he cries to much and can't think any more so that he does not get into the habit of being awake. I feel for you - I feel tired just thinking about it!

crazycatlady5 · 17/11/2017 21:49

Ah sorry! Didn’t get it. I would say it’s probably a bit of a waiting game until he can roll around properly himself, all of these things are phases 😊

Shanso · 17/11/2017 22:02

Haha, no worries, I'm so sleepy that it's no surprise I'm confusing things!! I was afraid of this answer...its a loooong waiting game Haha!! Would you keep flipping him back into his preferred position? I'm worried about creating a problem down the line....
