My DS is 6 months and I’m beginning to get so frustrated that he needs to feed to sleep for naps.

Night time is ok as he self settles then has 1-2 wake ups so I think he only has sleep association with naps.

Every nap time, I try and get him to go to sleep himself. He does do it every now and again so I know he can. That’s why it’s so frustrating! Most of the time though, he whinges and I end up feeding to sleep.

I’m thinking of just feeding till he’s drowsy then putting down and repeat till he’s asleep but I know this will probably take ages and I’ll have an unhappy tired baby.

Maybe I’m putting too much pressure on myself and him.

I do think you’re putting too much pressure on yourself and you’re also paying too much attention to ‘bad habits’ advice. They don’t do it forever. My now 9 month old I feed lying down and when she’s drowsy she herself rolls over and goes to sleep as if to say ‘cheers mum I’m all good now’

I wouldn’t worry about it if it’s workint.

Im in the exact same situation with my 6 month old apart from the other way round...! He self settles for naps but wakes every hour and a half at night...! Mostly it's to be flipped back on to his front but I've just been feeding because he's started not settling recently...urgh! Everyone tells me it's a phase so I'm hoping it changes soon....he used to wake every 45 mins so I k ow nothing lasts forever but it sucks at the time
