Will this bed work for co- sleeping?

We are currently on a single mattress on the floor but it’s driving me insane.

Baby will be 1 year when we get it. And my aim would be to have us both on the floor until he is old enough to get himself in and out of bed (he can climb up steps, just not down yet)

The 2 beds don’t fit together completely, apparently there is a small gap in between. Again my aim is to have him mostly in his own bed but we can slide over to each other if needed

Does it look safe enough?

Why not just get a kingsize bed. I dint like that gap.

I have a super king for cosleeping with 3 & 1 yos.

Thanks - because my plan is to retreat in time. So I thought

  1. Get him used to being right next to him
  2. Move my mattress completely away from his but in same room
  3. I leave the room

Is that gap that much of a risk at 1? Well does it stop being risky? (I don’t see why we wouldn’t be able to fit the bases together so I’m imaging a gap of an inch or so, not one that would open wide)

How about a zip and link bed? Is this just for you and child?

ziplink give most flexibility. You can get various sizes and types

Ah I love those but part of the attraction of the other bed was 1. It’s floor based while he is still little and 2. One bed can eventually be folded away (we are in his room and it’s not big enough to have 2 beds forever)

Yep, just me and DS (DH in another room)

I really appreciate everyone’s help, I’m driving myself crazy with it

(And because the one I posted is Argos I can’t go and physically see it to test it)

If I put a mattress topper over them both would that help with risk?

My now 13 year old has had a similar bed for a while - single with a trundle bed underneath. Really great for having friends over for a sleepover when older! So the bed certainly has longevity.

I'd buy and use that kind of set up, if it was me.
