Why does she cry out at night?

My DD is 19 months and has always been a good sleeper. Over the last month she goes down to sleep fine but she randomly cries out in the night, usually 3 or 4 times - sometimes more, sometimes (but rarely) less.

Any idea what causes this? She sometimes stops crying quickly, other times I have to go and sooth her back to sleep.

She doesn’t feel too hot or cold to touch when she does it. I can’t see that she has any teeth coming through either. She shouldn’t be hungry as she is a good eater and still has a bottle of milk before bed.

Any advice or comments would be really appreciated (I am tired!)

Bad dreams, perhaps.

Could be night terrors.

That’s what DP said. My poor little lamb. I wonder what the night terrors are Sad

I know you said she doesn’t have a tooth coming through but my ds used to get them every time one did.

It could just be what she does in the light sleep phase between sleep cycles.

How does she go to sleep at bedtime and is she having daytime naps?

We had a better night last night. She has recently stopped naps. Since the clocks changes she has been up much earlier though !
