Is ds actually a totally crap sleeper, or normal? And any ideas what might help him?

He's just 3. Has always slept badly - settles fine, but wakes a lot.
Atm, probably wakes about 1 in every 2 nights. Sometimes settles quickly, sometimes is awake for 1-2 hours - moaning and whinging and screaming. Doesn't want anything, won't be cuddled.
Dh tends to deal with him

Kiddisleep clock here worked like a charm for us

Really scootergirl - like the bunnyclock idea?
Had assumed that was a gimic that wouldn't have a chance... interesting - very happy to throw money at the problem...

We had the bunny clock first which was a complete non-starter as it's normally dark when DD wakes up and therefore she can't see the bunny is asleep
However this one is like a nightlight so also saw off any fears about night terrors or anything. We used to tell her that little rabbit was asleep so she should be and that if she slept all night, he would bring her a treat when she woke up. We'd then leave some stickers or whatever so she found them when she woke up with the rabbit.
