Moses Basket covers/liners

hi all not sure if this is the right place to post this sort of question but I'm FTM with baby due in November, we just bought a moses basket and i'm trying to buy extra linings for it but can't find anything online other than fleece or quilted ones. Apparently the baby WILL be sick on the one that came with the moses basket but nowhere seems to sell additional ones. any ideas? its just a standard mothercare moses basket.

To be honest I wouldn't waste your money. A large proportion of babies won't settle in a Moses basket past about 6 weeks, so you may well get little use out of it anyway.

SIDS recommendations are that baby sleeps in a cot/crib completely clear of loose or unnecessary bedding or soft toys.

All you really need for a Moses basket is several fitted bottom sheets for the mattress and a sleeping bag or sheet/blanket.

Don't remember seeing those anywhere. I don't think it matters too much. I'm sure it'll go in the washing machine and tumble drier, so if baby is sick in the night, you could sponge the worst off and wash during the day ready for the next night. I think it only happened a couple of times to me and don't remember wishing for a spare liner.

Mine had reflux so I had to keep him on my chest for half an hour after each feed anyway, so the milk had gone down. Good luck!

thanks for the replies @FATEdestiny & @RatherBeCrazy i'll see how she gets on with the moses basket and try other cots if it doesn't work out

Hello! We used a Moses but DD was busting out of it at 12w so we then put her in her IKEA cot.

I think you can get spare linings in Mothercare (who are doing 50% discounts at the moment) but if it's extra mattress covers you're after then head to Tesco x

Hi I just used a blanket with my DS when he was in his Moses basket I'd tuck it under the mattress so that he couldn't pull it over his face and he was right next to me when in his Moses basket on its stand so I kept checking him.
I wouldn't bother with wasting money on extras also with the sleeping bags you have to be careful when you do them up that your DC can't wiggle down that they're head doesn't fit through the neck once it's done up blanket is better for the first few weeks they are tiny and your always checking on them

You can improvise a bottom sheet with a pillowcase, and always put a muslin under the baby's head to catch the puke. I don't know about spare covers, my auntie made mine, but said it was such a faff it would have to do for every baby I had!
