Hi All,

My LO is 2 years old and we've baby #2 arriving in November (exciting times!). I'd like to get you guy's experience/advice on how best to
get our LO into good habits before the arrival - in particular in relation to his current bedtime routine.

He naps each lunchtime for an hour/two then at night from 8pm-6am (unless teething!). He'd reflux when little so we got used to giving him a bottle in his darkened bedroom at naptime (it works for us). He's in creche during the week (and afaik they don't give out milk to them at naptime) and he naps fine. At the w/end we give him (in his bedroom) a bottle for his lunchtime nap, for his nighttime nap, then when he wakes in the morning.

Were trying to make things easier for when #2 comes and try wean him off the bottle. Should we just go cold turkey (and for this lunchtime and nighttime naps) give him bottle in a sippy cup in living room then bring him up to bedroom and then see if he settles?

Trying to get good habits before were juggling them both :-)

Any thoughts/advice would be great :-)
Thanks - Ro.

If it was me I would do milk in a sippy cup, but still done at the same time and same was as the bottle was (do darkened room before sleep times). Once baby is used to this, then I'd start fiving it earlier.

Having said that, mine has completely stopped having milk entirely before sleep times by that age. So another option is to go cold turkey in milk in any form at bedtime offer milk with meals instead.
