5am wake up!!

My 8 month old baby wakes at 5am! She can't seem to get herself back to sleep. I know she's tired as eventually (at about 6) she goes back to sleep for a while.

She goes to sleep at 6.45. Any ideas for how to get her to sleep longer? Thanks!

I'd stop letting her sleep at 6am to catch up.
Also 7:30-8 bed

Is 5am her first wake up since going to bed?

What is her daytime sleep routine like??

RD82 · 23/08/2017 05:33

My 8mo daughter is the same. Up at 4.45am yest.

I stayed in all day yesterday to rigidly stick to a max 2 hour awake time between all naps which we achieved and a slighter later bedtime of 7.15pm (instead of 6-6.30pm ish) and she bloody woke up at 4.30am this morning, despite a feed lying down in bed & prancing round the room with dummy in desperation....she fought it & now I'm sat downstairs waiting for her to get tired again.

So pissed off! Solo parenting this week as my partner is away & rapidly losing my sense of humour Confused

My eldest was the same Maz then it got worse with a few months of 330 Confused

To be honest the only thing that stopped it was time. Eventually it stretched till 6-630. (Although still 530 a 30% of the time)

Hi RD82! I am exactly the same with the naps and everything. Have been very strict with two hour lunch etc

Now I've started giving her morning bottle at 5am and nappy change then she goes back to sleep until we wake her at 7.30!! At least I know I can go back to sleep after 5

Bed time at 7.
Shorten her day time nap or go down from two naps to one
