18 month old stopped napping! Not enough Gin in the world to cope!

My DD has always slept very well but for some unknown reason she seems to have given up her daytime nap.

I'm simply not ready or capable of handling a toddler all day with no nap time at all! I stupidly expected naps to continue till shes at least 3! There wasn't even a gradual fade out.

Please someone tell me they went through this and it's just a phase!

DD stopped at 12 months and never restarted. We don't speak of that time.

DS stopped every time he went through a developmental leap and then restarted. Trick is to keep nap time, even if it's quiet downtime in a dark room. Then she'll restart when ready.

Dd 18 months won't settle for bed until 9pm if she has even a 45 minute sleep but without she's such a night mare from 4pm onwards.

Who are these kids who take 2 hour naps and sleep 12 hours at night.

Ah. Had two of these. Up at 5am every day both of them too. We watched a lot of cbeebies. A. LOT.

show I'll give that a go of having downtime at least. Well....as much downtime as DD will cater for. I'll try just about anything!

This afternoon has been a right bunch of hysterical fun Hmm

Given she has always sleep well, I'd keep the nap going in the cot. Could be teething, illness, all sorts of things.

I have three that did this at 22 months (but i was walking her for 3 hours for a 40 min nap for a couple of months! it was insane but everyone said she still needed to nap...), 17 months & 18 months.
They all need less sleep than the books say & were all horrible sleepers. No sleeping through the night until well over two etc etc
