What should I get for my baby to sleep in, day and night?

I'm 30 weeks pregnant with my first baby and finally getting organised. I have started thinking about what my baby will sleep in but I am so confused by all the choice! I don't want to spend a fortune, especially if my baby doesn't even like what I choose. I like the idea of the cribs next to my bed at night, but then where should he sleep in the daytime? I know he's likely to fall asleep on me but then where should I put him if I can? What does everybody recommend? Thank you

I can't recommend a sleepyhead enough. Use for all daytime naps then place in whatever crib/cot you have at night (we had a snuzpod).

We used a moses basket for the first few weeks, I brough it downstairs in the daytime so I could put him down when he fell asleep on me! And then I had it right next to our bed at night, was great!

Both mine refused to sleep alone as tinies, day or night. Naps were all on someone (in arms or sling), at night we coslept with them in our bed. Both now good sleepers in their own beds for naps and overnight (aged 3 and 16 months) :)

We used the pram downstairs to save bringing the Moses basket down each day, and the Moses at night.

Definitely a Sleepyhead! You can use all around the house and take with you if you're going to stay somewhere else (we even took ours on holiday).

You can rent a Bednest for about £80 for as long as you need, I found this really handy!

Moses basket upstairs and one downstairs. Thigh next time I wouldn't bother with one downstairs I'd probably just use the pram.

Our baby only ever slept upstairs in his crib, even during the day. I hate Moses baskets so would never have one. And I wouldn't want my baby to sleep downstairs either. He went in a cot after that. We never had any 'extras', as I don't think they are really needed. Now he is in his toddler bed.

SLEEPYHEAD SLEEPYHEAD. Best thing ever. Mines still in hers (only just) at 6 months.

Next2me crib and sleepyhead upstairs. Dd slept in her pram downstairs. I actually used to put her outside in the garden in all weather and she would sleep for hours.

parkhead DS goes outside in his pram to sleep as well. Sleeps like a log.
