Toddler sleeping on the floor

Has anyone else's toddler gone through this phase? How long did it last?

DD is 2 and suddenly went from happily sleeping in her bed to wanting to sleep on the floor, curled up next to the stair gate.

Have tried all sorts.... got her to choose pretty bedding, enjoying cuddles & stories in bed together, moved bed so she can lie in it and still see out of her door, a night light....

Doesn't matter how many times you put her back in bed, awake or asleep, next time I look she back by the door!

In some ways I just think it's fine and leave her to it and hope she chooses her bed again soon. It's warm and nice comfy carpet, she sleeps well there etc.
But in the same breath it feels terrible seeing her there!

Just after some first hand experiences of it really! Thanks 😊

I don't have any advice about getting her back in her bed I'm afraid but maybe a little readybed or sleeping bag will help you feel a little bit better about her sleeping there

Thanks.
She takes her duvet, pillow and about 6 teddies with her and looks quite nice and cosy really. Good idea though!

I'd just let her crack on. If she's asleep, she's asleep!

Leave her to it. Kids are weird. I'm not one for "pick your battles" in a lot of cases as I'm quite strict and believe they should do as told but, this is one I'd have to call them a silly billy for and let them crack on for now.

I'd leave her too - she's obviously comfortable

I knew a LO at the age got up in the night with quilt/pillow and slept under their bed!

Two year olds are fab!

Thanks for the replies - apologies for the delay in responding, I didn't see there were replies until just now!

I've left her to it.... it's been 4 1/2 weeks now and she's stil happily in the floor 🙄

Ah well, at least she's sleeping.....

My DS slept with his new shoes on his hands at a similar age.

He was asleep. I left him too it.

She'll get back into bed one day.

Meanwhile take lots of photos for future piss taking. Grin

Mine did that too, I let him fall asleep on the floor then transferred him once he was properly asleep. It lasted about 2 months and now he falls asleep and stays in bed all night

Well..... dd has just gone to sleep in her bed! For the first time since July!
