I know guidelines have changed a few times over the years.. so just wondering opinions. My 4 month old rolls onto his front. Is there any real danger of him sleeping like this? If I roll him back over he just wakes up & if I surround him with rolled up towels for example so he can't roll over he wakes up 'cause he's uncomfortable..

The Back To Sleep campaign has recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. The policy has remained the same since then - place baby only on their back to sleep. Not their front or side.

The Back To Sleep campaign started in 1991 and is the single biggest factor to reduce SIDS deaths. Comparing the number of deaths from 1989 to the number of deaths in 1992, the rates of SIDS deaths reduces reduced by 60%

Advice remains that:

• If your baby has rolled onto their tummy, you should turn them onto their back again

• Once your baby can roll from back to front and back again, on their own, they can be left to find their own position

Oh I see. He can go from back to front and back to his back again on his own. So I'm ok to leave him to it then! Thanks
