How to sleep train a toddler?

She has just turned 2, we co-sleep always have done, she has always been a crap sleeper, she doesn't self settle, she is super super clingy, wakes after 2/3 hours of being in her cot most nights & is a terribly light sleeper. I'm sooo fed up that I never get any time to relax of an evening as I'm always on edge knowing she could wake at any time & that I would have to trot off to bed cos she won't settle unless I'm in bed with her Sad.
I know this is going to be really hard to crack but I just feels it's getting worst so I need to do something! Any successful stories out there? Thanks!

Following as I'm in the exact same boat 😬

Same boat Grin
However dd1 was like this and from 3 went into her own room and bed, I thought it would never happen as dd1 very stubborn and super clingy, 2 is a hard age to sleep train. 3 they understand much more.

Are you at home with your toddler or do you work? Do you have other children?

If you don't have a specific reason to be up early in the morning, i would side-step the issue of her not settling without you in bed by moving her bedtime to match yours. It doesn't solve the problem but does take a lot of the stress out of it.

How about having your toddlers cot in your bedroom? It allows for her learning about sleeping separately, but with the reassurance if you there in the room.

Glad im not the only one that has a toddler like this sometimes i feel shes the only one like it.
FATE i work part time, no other children as yet. I was thinking of once we've moved house, setting up a bed in her room next to her cot & seeing how that goes.

We moved house and the first thing I did was do up her bedroom, she went into a full size single at aged 3, I was 6 months pregnant and thought I'd never get her out!
Good luck
