Must be something in the air. My 4 year old is up for the 4th time, she's also got a cold. Apparently she can't sleep because of the rain (it started whist she was actually awake, it didn't wake her)
There there Hun, now fucking sleep 😴 so going to be paying for this in the morning

One of our bedrooms has a dorma window. Because of the shape of the roof over the dorma, rainfall is really loud in the room.

It's never bothered my children, we all sleep with the white noise of a bedside fan which drowns it out. White noise may help if you know rain is coming overnight.

Mine gets very angry at wind, and shakes her fist at it saying "Go AWAY wind, or I will blow you away" Hmm

Not very helpful for your DD! Sorry!

my mum helped me get over my fear of storms by making it exciting to stay up for a little bit watching the lightning and listening for the thunder and making a point of saying how nice it was to be warm and cosy inside...rather than letting me be scared/letting me sleep in their room.

My niece has a pathological fear of sheep. Never, ever understood that one. Would have hysterics if she saw one - even Shaun the Sheep on the telly. Of all the animals to be scared of, sheep would come fairly low down my list of fears, personally, but I am not her....

How about explaining to hear what's happening, watch a kids show about rain, etc. Make it interesting and exciting. Nothing to be afraid of..
