I hope someone can help me understand what I am doing wrong as I am at a loss. MY 9 month old son has never slept through and for the past 3 months has been waking up 4-5 times a night with it taking an hour to resettle on one of these occasions during the night.
At bedtime he rubs his eyes and ears so much that I need to hold his arms down - he then falls asleep but wakes up a lot as explained above.
Could someone please take a look at our routine to see if there are any problems with it that might be causing the sleep issues?
-7am wake up and bottle 8oz
-8am breakfast (weetabix or porridge)
- 8.30am nap for 1-1.5 hours
-10.30 bottle 8oz
-12pm snack (rice cake or melty puff)
-1pm lunch (meat or fish with veg and potatoe or similar)
-1.30pm nap for 45 minutes
-2.30pm bottle 8oz
-4pm snack
-5pm dinner (veg/fruit purée and a banana)
-6pm bottle 8oz (sometimes he has his bottle at 5.30 as he is very agitated at that time no matter how much he has for dinner)
-7pm asleep
Does anyone see anything above that could be preventing him from sleeping better? One other thing to add is that he cries when he finishes his bottle but HV says he already has a lot of milk for his weight (9kg and 32oz of milk a day).
Thanks so much. X
