Toddler screaming at bedtime

So my lg (2.5yrs) has always been a great sleeper, she has thrived on routine and never had an issue going to sleep. Now, as of 2 weeks ago, every evening she screams like she is being hurt, everytime we put her to bed at nighttime. Never for her afternoon nap, just night. I have tried lying next to her, singing, cuddling, leaving her door open, sitting by the door and even leaving her. But regardless what i do she screams non stop, really badly. Help?!?!? We havent ever had to deal with sleep issues and this has come out the blue so really stuck.

Such a sudden and extreme change would suggest something temporary. Could it be the heat? Illness? Molars cutting?

My DD is younger (14 months) but I posted pretty much the same thread a few weeks ago.

We eventually narrowerd down all the possible reasons and decided maybe she wasn't tired enough. We found that reducing the nap by 15-20 minutes stopped the bedtime screaming. It might have been a fluke but maybe give it a go? Good luck Flowers

Thankyou. I will give that a try! She still really needs her afternoon nap but maybe reducing the length will help. Thanks
