Hi Akk,
Newbie here! I've got a great bedtime lullaby and routine that works every time with my 9 yr old daughter when she's restless.
FYI: I can't sing but that doesn't matter but she is usually asleep within 5-6 minutes.
A few tips:
1- When you've sang all 4 verses, start again but leave a longer gap between lines and verses.
2- I sing this to the tune of Goodnight Sweetheart.
3- Change some of the words to make it relatable.
4- I only use this lullaby as a last resort as I found she become dependant on it to go to sleep.
5- Get comfy and endure your child is too BEFORE you start.
The Lullaby - by Daniella & me
Good night sweetheart, well it's time to sleep,
just close your eyes and have the sweetest dreams.
And as you drift off, I'll kiss you goodnight,
Sleep tight sweetheart, goodnight
I know your restless and you want to play,
but you need your rest to play another day
So lay your head down and I'll turn off the light
Ohh goodnight sweetheart, goodnight
There aren't any monsters hiding under the bed,
or in the wardrobe cos ive already checked
and if you get scared, I'll hold you tight,
Goodnight sweetheart, goodnight
If your finding it too hard to fall asleep,
just close your eyes and try counting sheep
1 after the other from the left to the right
Ohh goodnight sweetheart, goodnight
Good luck, would love some feedback to tell Daniella.
