DS is 16 months. Generally a really good sleeper. Up till 3 weeks ago he was doing 9-10 and 1-3 when we were at home (Thursday-Sunday) and all sorts of random times at nursery Monday-Wednesday, sometimes 2 x 30 mins, sometimes 1 x 75 minutes, on very bad days only 45 mins all day. Was all OK as was able to catch up at the end of the week.

3 weeks ago he refused his am nap but was absolutely fine and for three days had no am nap but then 2.5-3 hours in pm. So an earlier 2-1 transition than I was expecting but all OK. Then we went on holiday and worse night sleep meant back to 2 naps, no problem. Back at nursery this week and he's had 1 hour each day but really early, yesterday was 10.30-11.30 so at pick up he was shattered. We've had 3 days of a really cranky and exhausted little boy in the evening.

So my question, ludicrously long as the build up has been, sorry, is tomorrow would you encourage him to go back to 2 naps covering hopefully at least 3 hours to catch up or continue with what he was happy with 3 weeks ago which is to push through till 12.45ish and hope he then has a good big one.

Push through for 1 long one.

Thanks, that was my instinct unless he's utterly exhausted earlier I suppose

My dd went from 2 to 1 nap at 13-14 months I think, it made her sleep much better at night! Ds was similar and transitioning to one nap rescued us from 5 am wake ups!

We're getting through till 6.30 most mornings so hoping that continues!
